Cooktop answers
What Should I Tell the Technician Before the Visit?
The answer
Five things: the model and serial number from the rating plate, the exact signal and where it shows, when it happens, what you have already tried, and a photo of the display if anything is on it. Have them ready when you book with Redmond Wolf Repair on (425) 905-2822.
| If you see | And | Then | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| A fault that comes and goes and is gone when you look | The cooktop behaves normally in between | Jot down each time it happens: which zone or burner, what setting, what it did. | Safe to wait |
| Letters, numbers or a light you have not seen before | They come back after the cooktop is switched off and on | Photograph the display before it clears, then book with the picture to hand. | Call today |
The two numbers
Wolf’s guides say any service call needs the model and serial number, and both are on the rating plate: under a cooktop, or below the control panel at the far right on a sealed-burner rangetop. If a drawer or wall oven hides it, say so and give the width of the top instead.
The signal, in plain words
Name the kind of top, then describe what you notice as you would to a neighbour: the front left zone flashes and gives up, or the right rear burner keeps ticking once it is lit. Add what you tried, such as drying a burner or holding Lock, so the visit does not repeat it. In a Downtown Redmond or Overlake building, say how the technician gets in.
