Flashing Power Level: Pan Not Detected
On a Wolf induction cooktop, a flashing power level means the zone is switched on but cannot find a pan it is able to heat.

The magnet test
Hold a fridge magnet to the base of the pan. Wolf’s advice is that it should stick firmly. Cast iron, enamel on steel and magnetic stainless pass; aluminium, copper, glass and some stainless do not. A pan with a coil symbol stamped underneath is made for induction.
What the flashing is doing
Wolf’s current guide says that when no pan, or an unsuitable one, sits on a zone after it is switched on, the control flashes for 30 seconds and then turns the zone off. The flash protects an empty zone; it is not a failure. You also see it for a moment each time you switch a zone on, until you choose a level.
Pan size counts too
The older Wolf induction guide lists a smallest pan for each zone, and a base below it does not register. Matching the pan to the ring printed on the glass settles it.
