Electric Element Stuck on Full Power
A Wolf radiant element that stays at full brightness whatever the panel says has slipped out of the control's hands, and it should stay unused until it has been tested.

What steady brightness tells you
Wolf’s current guide for its induction and electric cooktops says a radiant element is cycled between zero and full power. It is driven fully on, then fully off, over and over, and a higher setting stretches the on-spells and trims the pauses, so the pauses are longest at Melt and Simmer. An element blazing without a break there is no longer being switched off, and the level on the panel has stopped meaning anything.
Stopping it at the breaker
Wolf tells owners to have the installer point out the cooktop’s breaker or fuse, and that switch is the right way to stop an element the panel cannot. Turn it off, leave pans where they are while the glass cools, and keep anything that could melt away from the hot surface. Nothing under the cooktop needs touching.
What to tell us
Say which element it is, which setting it ignored, and whether On/Off or All Off made any difference. The fault lies in whatever feeds and switches that one element, and the technician tests it before anything is quoted.
